School vacation? Business trip? To make sure you stay gluten-free while away from home, follow these tips:
First: Call your hotel and ask for a mini-refrigerator in your room. You may need to refrigerate some GF food options during your stay, including bagels, sandwich bread, yogurt etc. Second: Do a search of nearby restaurants before you go and call ahead to see what GF items are on the menu. Speak to the chef or kitchen staff if possible. This will cut out time when looking for places to eat meals. Third: Pack some GF food if possible. Scharf products are great for travel because they are individually vacuumed packed - try their ciabatta dinner rolls, hot dog/hamburger rolls, hero rolls, and breadsticks. Always carry snack bars, such as Nature Valley Granola Bars (not the chewy version which contains barely malt,) Kind Bars, or EnviroKids Rice Crispy Bars. Fourth: Enjoy and relax!
